hear you are not in favour of the scheme.
As you say, controlled parking wouldn't stop your Saturday night drinkers parking in
Lichfield overnight as there would be no restrictions to stop them remaining there on the following Sunday.
If the times ran Monday to Friday they could stay overnight Friday as well.
There are hundreds of options that the council could bring in to stop this sort of thing but of course they don't all earn the council money.
Unfortunately a photograph of a road with cars in still doesn't prove that they are non-residents but as you can see from this photo,
even in Lichfield one of the closest roads to the station, during the day there are still plenty of places to park. That must be preferable to all the cost and
inconvenience of the scheme proposed.
Just as an aside, I walked to work down Colchester at 1:50pm today and there
were plenty of parking spaces on the left walking down the hill. I wish
I'd had my camera.
