I sincerely hope that your are right and that the council takes note of your suggestions. Unfortunately you state that "to continue further would be folly and a total waste of public money" and " Common sense has to be applied by the Councillors". When have you ever known a council do that?! You only have to look at Mr Keen's comments under 'Re: DEMOCRACY' in the Discussion section to get an idea of what will happen. Don't for one minute think that because there is a Website up and running, petitions going round, letters/e-mails being sent to the council etc. that the residents will be listened to. The reason that most of these people become Councillors in the first place is because they like the feeling of power. They will probably get an even bigger buzz if they know they they have imposed the scheme on the residents against their will. It will just increase their sense of power and importance. I do I hope I'm wrong.
