I have lived in Highland Rd for 4yrs now & in that time have never encountered the 'army' of commuters that have purported to use my road amongst many to park in,neither the cars used by 'local shoppers'.So the idea of making people pay for using the surrounding roads to park as a deterrent is a non-starter,the council i believe were aiming to use this as a smokescreen to bring in the CPZ's or TMP's therefore making the residents feel 'looked after' by keeping out non- residents but all the while trying to slip in the scheme to extract more hard earned money out of our pockets. If i receive another form from the council it will be treated like the first, with a resounding 'NO' in the reply boxes. Why should we have to pay to park outside our own houses,or come to that why should our relatives & friends be subject to this 'stealth tax' surely the council raises enough revenue through the council tax, after all its one of the highest of the London boroughs if not the whole of the South East of England.
