The issues just are not debated within a coordinated framework. What we all want is for Northwood Hills to be a nice and safe place in which to live and have a parking in our roads. I live in Ferndown which is about as close to the station as you can get. I can nearly always get a parking space during the day. However it is late at night the problem occurs as the existing yellow lines are not enforced at night. We need to encourage people to come and shop in Northwood Hills and like it or not they come by car. Therefore we need to provide better parking and especially between the station and the roundabout. Narrowing the road would not be necessary as the pavements are wide already and we could have a traffic calming as well. This would keep the flow along Joel Street at a manageable level and give encouragement to our traders. How about pay and display parking in Joel Street but make it free for two hours? THis would stop people parking in adjoing roads, and discoruage all day parking. Is this not simple or am I missing something?
