Cllr Mike Heywood has just put the following statement out on HillingdonChat.com (4/10/03) "Thought you all would like to know that I've dumped plans for a Permit Parking Scheme in and around Ruislip Town Centre and Ruislip Manor. The Gazette will probaly say "Residents win parking battle again" but I'd like to think it's more a case of the Council keeping its promise and listening to what residents say. " * * * HillingdonChat.com says: This now means that plans for dreaded CPZs have been scrapped in Hayes, Yiewsley & West Drayton, Northwood Hills and Ruislip. People all over London and in other towns and cities are suffering under these creeping schemes, so HillingdonChat.com would like to register its very strong approval of the council's decision to act in accordance with the wishes of the vast majority of voters.
