(Written days after the
CPZ proposal in Northwood Hills was overturned by
majority vote)
Well
just when you think your council have truly listened to
it's electorate you hear some disturbing news....
We have found that residents are
actually being asked by councillors whether they
filled in their CPZ questionnaires themselves!
Amazing isn't it?
Despite a 1000 strong petition
taken outside of Northwood Hills tube station, despite road by road petitions totaling a further 1400+
"NOs" to
this scheme, despite a turnout of 800 outraged residents
at the public meeting, despite a unanimous anti
CPZ debate by councillors at the recent Civic Centre
monthly meeting, despite Hayes and Longford demonstrating
similar outrage, they
have the nerve to ask this question.

HOW
OUT OF TOUCH WITH PUBLIC FEELING CAN A
COUNCIL BE? |
It is shocking that your council think this would have
been necessary with all of the evidence that they have
been presented with. It makes you wonder how their minds
work. Can they simply not hear a word people say?
This form of
deception that they are suggesting is obviously
something that may come second nature to them but the
honest people of Northwood Hills would not stoop so low.
We hope that this view is not taken by all of our
councillors. The one or two known to be asking such
questions should look back through the evidence that
backs up the number of
returned questionnaires stating "NO", should
bother to actually look at the petitions that
they have been sent and
learn the lessons from the experience.
Why is it that our councillors need such exhaustive
convincing when their ideas are not those of the
residents?
It's
sad that this is the way
that some of their councillors perceive the people of
Northwood Hills.
