I am writing to state my disapproval of the new parking scheme proposed for
Northwood Hills. I am a regular visitor to this area having a relative
and friends there.
I am appalled that I might be expected to obtain a permit to park outside
the houses that I visit. This scheme has not been thought
through at all. Correction, it has of course, as it
can only be another way to extract money from the motorist yet again to
assist the council coffers! This plan is all about getting money in
for the council and I dread to think the amount it will be hiked up every
year as another way of increasing revenue.
THIS COUNCIL COULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A DROP IN HOUSE PRICES.
I SELL PROPERTIES AND THIS IS HAPPENING IN CENTRAL LONDON DUE TO THE
CONGESTION CHARGE AND THE PROPOSED PARKING SCHEME WOULD HAVE THE SAME
KNOCK-ON EFFECT - THERE MAY BE SOME LEGAL IMPLICATIONS IN THIS PLAN.
I live in this borough and I have already heard suggestions that the
congestion scheme in London could cause parking problems in the suburbs, but
this just does not make sense at all. The cost of a getting into
London by train exceeds the congestion charge. After all if
parking became a problem for residents, they would be the first people
to complain - then and only then would this be the time to consider this
scheme.
Of course, the alternative is that the scheme would not be
necessary, but if you wait until that happens, then you'd lose all
those permit fees wouldn't you? This is not the time to start bringing
in restrictive parking 'just in case' a problem could occur in the future.
Good God, this type of beurocracy could wind the country up in even more red
tape than it has already.
I AM VIOLENTLY OPPOSED TO THIS PLAN AND SO ARE ALL THE RESIDENTS WHO
ATTENDED THE PUBLIC MEETING + THOSE WHO WERE UNABLE TO COME DUE TO AGE,
ILL HEALTH, BABYSITTING PROBLEMS, WORK ETC.
